Type: Supply Agreement · Technology: Hybrid · Country: Australia · Capacity: 380 MW · Announced: 2026-06-16

INTEC Energy Solutions, a London-headquartered global EPC and energy infrastructure company, secured the lead EPC contract for the Lower Wonga Solar Farm and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project in Queensland, Australia. The hybrid project combines 380 MW of solar generation with an 843 MWh battery storage system on a 600-hectare site in the Gympie region, designed to supply electricity equivalent to the annual needs of approximately 126,000 homes. The BESS component will deliver around three hours of storage capacity to enhance grid stability and support demand fluctuations within Australia’s National Electricity Market. Construction has commenced, with project completion targeted for 2028 and an estimated 400 jobs created during the construction phase. INTEC will partner with Gotion High-Tech Australia, a subsidiary of Hefei-headquartered Gotion High-Tech, which will supply lithium-ion batteries for the storage system.
