International Finance Corporation (IFC) announced an investment of up to $175 million to fund the expansion of AirTrunk’s JHB1 data centre and the completion of its JHB2 facility in Johor, Malaysia. JHB1, which entered service in July 2024, currently provides over 50 MW and is slated to reach more than 150 MW, while JHB2 is projected to deliver over 270 MW of capacity. Both sites sit on a 520‑hectare former industrial park within the Southern Industrial and Logistics Cluster of the Iskandar Malaysia development corridor. The financing will be delivered through a mix of debt and equity, reflecting IFC’s mandate to support critical digital infrastructure in emerging markets. The investment aligns with the World Bank Group’s broader strategy to enhance data centre resilience and supports Malaysia’s growing demand for high‑performance computing resources.
