JA Solar sells 2 GW Phoenix facility to Corning Inc. for operation as American Panel Solutions
Type: Sale · Technology: Solar · Country: United States · Capacity: 2 GW · Announced: 2026-08-04
JA Solar has completed a 100% equity sale of its 2 GW solar module assembly facility in Phoenix, Arizona, to Corning Inc. The facility will now operate under the name American Panel Solutions. This divestment is a direct response to the tightened Foreign Entity of Concern (FEOC) rules, which impose restrictions on manufacturing facilities where designated FEOCs hold material equity or debt. By selling the facility, JA Solar aims to ensure that projects utilizing modules from this site can maintain eligibility for Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) Investment Tax Credits (ITC).
