JBM Buses supplies 300 electric buses to Delhi government for public transport expansion

JBM Buses delivered 300 electric buses to the Delhi government, including 195 nine-metre units and 105 twelve-metre units, expanding Delhi's public transport electric bus fleet to 4,845 units. The nine-metre e-buses are designated for the Delhi Electric Vehicle Interconnector (DEVi) service, providing zero-emission last-mile connectivity between residential areas and major public transport corridors. Four new electric bus depots were inaugurated simultaneously, with two in Narela accommodating 250 buses, and others in Rithala and Kohat Enclave holding 30 and 90 buses respectively. Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta announced plans to further expand the e-bus fleet to 7,000 units by the end of 2026 and 14,000 units by 2028. The Ecolife e9 model, manufactured by JBM Buses, was highlighted during the inauguration, featuring amenities such as AC, passenger information systems, real-time GPS tracking, panic buttons, and CCTV monitoring.
