JERA Nex bp acquires Sumitomo's stakes in Nobelwind and Northwester 2 offshore wind farms in Belgium

JERA Nex bp completed the acquisition of Sumitomo Corporation’s 30% stake in the 219 MW Northwester 2 offshore wind farm and its 39.02% interest in the 165 MW Nobelwind offshore wind farm in Belgium. The acquisition raises JERA Nex bp’s ownership to 100% of Northwester 2 and to 80.1% of Nobelwind, giving it full control of the two projects that were commissioned in 2020 and 2017 respectively. Both farms are located off the Belgian coast and together provide roughly 384 MW of renewable generation that feeds the Belgian grid. The transaction supports JERA Nex bp’s strategy to expand long‑term offshore wind ownership in established markets and deepens its presence in Belgium, a key hub for its offshore portfolio. The deal was announced without disclosed financial terms, and JERA Nex bp will continue to operate the assets from its Ostend hub.
