JetZero secures $100 million financing for blended wing aircraft development and manufacturing

Type: Financing · Technology: Defense · Country: United States · Value: $100M · Announced: 2026-09-01

JetZero, a California-based aerospace startup, secured a $100 million senior secured term loan facility to advance the development and production of its blended wing aircraft program. The financing will support the Z4 aircraft program, designed for the middle market with capacity for approximately 250 passengers and a range of up to 5,000 nautical miles, expected to reduce fuel burn and emissions by up to 50% compared with conventional aircraft. Proceeds will accelerate technology maturation and manufacturing of Jet1, JetZero's full-scale demonstrator aircraft, and fund the buildout of U.S. manufacturing and test facilities in Greensboro, North Carolina. The company plans to create more than 14,000 jobs in North Carolina over the next decade to support production of the aircraft. Jet1, being built with Scaled Composites (a Northrop Grumman company), was 40% complete as of June 2026, with its first flight scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2027.
