Jinko Power and the Zhongwei municipal government signed a framework investment agreement to develop a 1GW solar-powered AI data center in Ningxia, China, valued at approximately $3.6 billion. The project will occupy more than 534,000 square meters and will host around 50,000 standard racks across three construction phases. Completion is provisionally set for 2028, aligning with China's "Eastern Data, Western Computing" strategy to shift workloads to the west where clean energy and cooler climates improve efficiency. The solar plant will directly supply power to the AI data center, reducing reliance on grid electricity and supporting China's carbon‑reduction goals. The agreement is preliminary and subject to further approvals, with Jinko Solar listed as the parent company of Jinko Power.
