Kaylon Energías Renovables executes EPC contract for 115 kW solar installation for Toledo historic centre energy community

In July 2026 Kaylon Energías Renovables executed an EPC contract to build a 115 kW solar photovoltaic plant for the Comunidad Energética del Casco Histórico de Toledo. The installation, using SunPower Performance 7 modules, is sited on the roof of the municipal skating rink of a sports centre in Toledo, covering roughly 1,200 m². The plant is projected to produce about 168 MWh annually, initially serving 36 members of the energy community and supporting up to 75 participants overall. The project showcases a collective self‑consumption model that avoids heritage restrictions by locating generation on public roofs rather than protected historic buildings. Coordination among the Ayuntamiento de Toledo, the municipal sports patronage, the local electricity distributor and several commercialisers required structural reinforcements and safety protocols to keep the sports facility operational during construction. SunPower estimates annual savings of €17,000, forecasting a total lifetime saving of €600,000 and a payback period of four to eight years depending on consumption patterns.
