Kraft Sports and Entertainment partners with Enel Green Power for renewable energy credits and Bloom Energy for fuel cell installation at Gillette Stadium

Type: Partnership · Technology: Solar, Storage · Country: United States · Announced: 2026-05-06

Kraft Sports and Entertainment, owner of Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts, partnered with Enel Green Power to purchase 900 MWh of renewable energy credits (RECs) in 2019, supporting its clean energy goals. In 2020, the company commissioned Bloom Energy to install a 2 MW fuel cell energy server at the stadium, which now supplies nearly 50% of the facility's electricity needs through a highly efficient electrochemical process. The fuel cell system, designed to operate as a microgrid, reduces approximately 1,500 metric tons of CO2 emissions annually while enabling grid-independent operation. Additionally, Kraft Sports and Entertainment installed a 1 MW solar array on the nearby Patriots Place shopping center, powering about 60% of its operations. Enel X supplied 50 JuiceBox Pro smart EV charging stations throughout Patriot Place, managed via JuiceNet software to optimize charging demand and support local utility peak management.
