KS Eco Solutions Holding Limited and Zambian stakeholders agree to develop 500 MW solar project in Zambia

South Korean energy and infrastructure firm KS Eco Solutions Holding Limited agreed with the Government of Zambia to develop a 500 MW solar project in ten 50 MW phases. The project will be constructed jointly by technical teams from South Korea and Zambia, with the Zambian government providing the required land. A long-term power purchase agreement (PPA) with Zambia’s national utility ZESCO is planned to underpin the project’s revenue. The total investment is estimated between $700 million and $900 million, with financing expected from the Export-Import Bank of Korea and the Korea Development Bank. Once operational, the 500 MW facility is forecast to address approximately one-third of Zambia’s current energy deficit.
