La Caisse and Beedie forge Canadian industrial JV with $1b seed portfolio

La Caisse (formerly CDPQ) and Beedie, a Canadian owner and developer of industrial, commercial and residential real estate, have launched a strategic partnership to acquire and develop industrial real estate assets across major Canadian markets. The joint venture launches with a $1 billion seed portfolio comprising five income-producing properties totaling over 2.5 million square feet of leasable area, as well as one development project expected to deliver approximately 200,000 square feet. The portfolio is located in Metro Vancouver, Calgary, and Toronto and is occupied by investment-grade tenants across diverse sectors. La Caisse and Beedie each hold a 50 percent interest in the portfolio, with Beedie managing the enterprise and providing fully integrated services. The partnership targets up to $2 billion in gross asset value for industrial assets across the full spectrum of risk profiles in key Canadian markets including British Columbia, Alberta, Ontario, and Quebec.
