Latvenergo evaluates acquisition of wind and hybrid energy projects totaling 250 MW

Latvenergo has announced it is evaluating the acquisition of wind and hybrid energy projects with a combined capacity of up to 250 MW. PricewaterhouseCoopers SIA has been appointed as independent adviser to manage the project selection and evaluation process. The company will consider ready-to-build developments and operational wind assets commissioned within the past five years. Latvenergo plans to begin acquisition discussions with the developers of shortlisted projects. The acquisition programme forms part of Latvenergo's strategy to add 2.3 GW of generation capacity and expand its renewable energy portfolio across the Baltic region. Latvenergo's existing wind portfolio includes the operational 19.6 MW Akmenë and 124 MW Telšiai projects in Lithuania, while it is developing the 109 MW Laflora Energy wind farm and constructing the 147 MW Pienava wind farm in Latvia. Its Priekule hybrid project combines an 11.5 MW wind farm under construction with an operational 9 MW solar plant and 2 MW battery energy storage system. The company has also commissioned the 265 MW Aizpute solar project and owns additional solar assets across Latvia, Lithuania, and Estonia.
