Type: Acquisition · Technology: Solar · Country: United States · Capacity: 725 MW · Announced: 2026-07-08
Leeward Renewable Energy (LRE) acquired a 725MW Oklahoma solar portfolio from Red River Renewable Energy, a joint venture between SunChase Power and Eolian, in two separate transactions during 2024. The portfolio includes four operational and under-construction projects: 125MW Huckleberry Solar, 153MW Twelvemile Solar I & II, 102MW Mayes Solar, and 145MW Salt Branch Solar I & II. The acquisition expands LRE's US renewable energy footprint to over 4GW, following its March 2026 purchase of the 350MW Harvey solar project in Ohio. The Oklahoma projects represent a $1.5 billion investment and will generate approximately $148.8 million in state and local tax revenue over their operational lifetimes.
