Lemon Sistemi, Huawei Digital Power, and Enerklima sign partnership to develop 40 MW solar and 30 MWh battery storage projects in Italy
Type: Partnership · Technology: Hybrid · Country: Italy · Capacity: 40 MW · Announced: 2026-05-28
Lemon Sistemi, Huawei Digital Power, and Enerklima signed a partnership agreement to develop 40 MW of solar photovoltaic (PV) capacity and 30 MWh of battery energy storage systems (BESS) across Italy, with a focus on Sicily. The projects, planned for completion between 2026 and 2027, target commercial and industrial customers seeking energy independence and grid stability. Lemon Sistemi’s president, Maria Laura Spagnolo, highlighted that the initiatives will include hybrid PV-storage systems, either retrofitting existing solar plants or constructing new ones. The partnership leverages Huawei’s Luna 5000 BESS and solar inverters, with Enerklima serving as Huawei’s gold partner distributor in Italy. A confirmed 15 MW of solar capacity and 10 MWh of storage are already in the pipeline, including a 2 MW solar project paired with 10 MWh of storage, which may integrate an EV charging station for industrial vehicles. The collaboration aims to support Italy’s renewable energy market growth and reduce industrial electricity costs.
