Lirion Power acquires 77 MW Irish wind portfolio from GIP/BlackRock

Lirion Power has agreed to acquire a 77 MW operational onshore wind portfolio in Ireland from Global Infrastructure Partners (GIP), part of BlackRock. The portfolio includes five wind farms: Acres, Barranafaddock, Knockaneden, Ballagh, and Raragh 2, located across Donegal, Waterford, Kerry, Limerick, and Meath. The transaction is expected to close shortly and will bring Lirion Power's renewable energy platform to 200 MW. The company is backed by HitecVision and Reinova Partners. The portfolio uses GE and Enercon turbines with individual capacities ranging from 2.3 MW to 2.85 MW. Lirion plans to pursue life extensions, hybridisation, and repowering, including opportunities to add solar and battery storage alongside existing grid connections.
