Lloyds Banking Group and Wildfarmed launch Food & Nature Resilience Fund to finance regenerative agriculture in the UK

Type: Investment · Technology: Agriculture · Country: United Kingdom · Announced: 2026-07-06

Lloyds Banking Group and regenerative‑agriculture firm Wildfarmed announced the launch of the Food & Nature Resilience Fund, a vehicle designed to finance regenerative farming practices across the United Kingdom. The fund will support UK farmers in adopting techniques that improve biodiversity, soil health, water quality and reduce carbon emissions, without requiring land to be taken out of food production. Initial investors include water utilities Severn Trent and Affinity Water, together with global insurer AXA XL, providing the capital base for the fund. By pooling capital from banks, utilities and insurers, the fund addresses the financial constraints cited by 92 % of farmers as the main barrier to transition to regenerative agriculture. The partnership aligns Lloyds’ sustainable‑finance agenda with Wildfarmed’s network of British growers, creating a commercial model that rewards nature‑positive farming. The fund was announced on 6 July 2026 and is positioned to mobilise further private‑sector capital for nature‑rich food production in the UK.
