Longi Solar signs agreement with RWE for solar PV plant and battery storage system in Italy

Longi Solar has signed an agreement with RWE for the construction of a solar photovoltaic plant and a utility-scale battery energy storage system (BESS) in Italy. The BESS will have a capacity of approximately 300 MWh with a 4-hour duration configuration. Longi will supply its LongiBank 6.25 MWh LFP (Liquid-Field Fuel) all-in-one solution, featuring high energy density and AI-driven thermal runaway prediction for fire prevention. The integrated PV+BESS system is designed to achieve industry-leading system lifetime efficiency of 93%. The project is slated to enter service by the end of 2027.
