Type: Supply Agreement · Technology: Transmission · Country: Türkiye · Value: ZAR 221M · Announced: 2026-07-06
LS Marine Solution, a subsidiary of LS Cable & System, signed a EUR 221 million contract with Türkiye’s Tersan Shipyard in June 2025 to construct an ultra-large cable-laying vessel (CLV) designed for subsea cable installation. The vessel, measuring 148.4 meters in length and 31 meters in width, will feature a load capacity of 13,000 tonnes and a total displacement of 18,800 tonnes, making it one of the world’s top five CLVs by cable loading capacity and the largest in Asia. Engineered by Norwegian firm Salt Ship Design and equipped with an integrated technology package from Kongsberg Maritime, the vessel will specialize in simultaneously laying high-voltage direct current (HVDC) submarine cables and fiber optic cables. Delivery is scheduled for the first half of 2028, aligning with LS GreenLink’s 2028 commercial production plans for its U.S.-based submarine cable manufacturing subsidiary. This integrated solution aims to deliver end-to-end turnkey services across North America and Europe, positioning LS Cable & System as a key player in global subsea cable infrastructure.
