Macquarie Asset Management divests stakes in Polish fiber network provider Fiberhost and telecom operator INEA to Deutsche Telekom
Type: Acquisition · Technology: Telecom · Country: Poland · Announced: 2026-08-17
Macquarie Asset Management, acting for its Macquarie European Infrastructure Fund 5, agreed to divest its interest in Fiberhost and INEA to Deutsche Telekom. The transaction transfers ownership of Fiberhost, an open‑access FTTH network, and INEA, a retail telecommunications services provider, both operating in western Poland. Fiberhost’s network connects homes, businesses and roughly 3,000 schools, with about 60% of its footprint in rural areas that were previously underserved. By acquiring the assets, Deutsche Telekom will integrate them into T‑Mobile Polska, strengthening its position in the Polish telecom market. No financial terms were disclosed, and the deal follows eight years of Macquarie’s ownership during which the platforms expanded to over 160 service providers.
