Magnora acquires 50% stake in Estonia data center joint venture with Sunly

Magnora Data Center ASA has acquired a 50 percent interest in the Risti Kampus data center joint venture in Estonia, partnering with integrated energy infrastructure firm Sunly AS. The data center site is located in western Estonia, approximately 60km south of Tallinn and 150km south of Helsinki, with potential to scale from an initial 180MW phase to 400MW. The Risti campus will connect to the power grid and to Sunly's adjacent energy park, which features 244MWp solar, 144MW battery energy storage system, and 44MW wind capacity in development. Magnora retains an option to extend its stake in the joint venture to 75 percent. Founded in 2019, Sunly has 1GW of renewable-energy capacity operating or under construction, backed by investors including Mirova, EBRD, Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners, KLP, Vardar, EIB, mBank, and Rivage Investments.
