Marine Power Systems secures investment from OSI Renewables and Entrion Wind for floating wind technology development

Type: Investment · Technology: Offshore Wind · Country: United Kingdom · Announced: 2026-06-17

Marine Power Systems (MPS) announced a strategic investment from OSI Renewables and Entrion Wind to advance its PelaFlex GS floating wind foundation technology. The PelaFlex GS combines tension leg platform principles with fixed-bottom monopile designs to create a lighter structure capable of operating in water depths exceeding 80 meters. This innovation addresses the UK's growing interest in deep-water offshore wind projects where traditional fixed-bottom foundations are impractical. OSI Renewables and Entrion Wind join existing investors SSE Renewables and Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP) in supporting MPS's commercialization efforts. The technology aims to unlock 60% of the UK's offshore wind potential located in waters too deep for conventional turbines.
