Masdar and Taaleri Energia partner to own 50% each of the 154 MW Čibuk 2 onshore wind farm in Serbia

Masdar and Taaleri Energia each acquired a 50% stake in the 154 MW Čibuk 2 onshore wind farm, formalising a joint‑ownership partnership for the project. The wind farm, comprising 22 Nordex turbines, is located in the South Banat region of Serbia, about 40 km from Belgrade, and is expected to generate up to 336,000 MWh of electricity annually. The two‑partner structure adds to the existing 158 MW Čibuk 1 facility, creating a 312 MW wind complex that can supply roughly 178,800 households. The investment contributes to more than €500 million of foreign direct investment in Serbia’s energy infrastructure and supports the country’s target of 3.5 GW of additional wind and solar capacity by 2030. The partnership was announced alongside remarks from Serbian officials highlighting the project’s role in decarbonising the national grid and enhancing energy security.
