Masdar signed a supply agreement with JA Solar to procure photovoltaic modules for its round‑the‑clock (RTC) solar‑plus‑storage project in Abu Dhabi. The agreement covers up to 3 GW of PV modules, and the first batch was delivered in July 2026. The RTC project, located in the Al Dhafra region, will combine a 5.2 GW solar plant with a 19 GWh battery storage system to deliver 1 GW of continuous renewable baseload power. The delivery supports the UAE’s goal to meet rising electricity demand driven by rapid economic growth and expanding AI data‑center infrastructure. JA Solar’s DeepBlue modules are engineered for continuous operation under harsh desert conditions and are intended for utility‑scale deployments.
