Masdar has agreed to acquire a 49.99% stake in a Spanish renewable energy portfolio from Repsol, valuing the assets at €849 million. The portfolio includes 705 MW of operational capacity, comprising 13 wind farms (402 MW) and six solar PV projects (303 MW), all commissioned between 2025 and Q1 2026. Additionally, the portfolio offers over 565 MW of potential hybridisation opportunities across wind, solar, and battery energy storage. This transaction is expected to close by the end of 2026, subject to regulatory approvals, and supports Masdar's goal of reaching 100 GW of global renewable energy capacity by 2030. Once completed, Masdar will have 4.1 GW of operational capacity in the Iberian Peninsula, with approximately 1 GW under development.
