MaxSolar selects Entrix to optimize and commercialize a 20 MW/100 MWh grid-support BESS for N-Ergie in Germany

Type: Partnership · Technology: Storage · Country: Germany · Capacity: 20 MW · Announced: 2026-06-22

German renewable energy developer MaxSolar partnered with AI-driven energy optimization firm Entrix to commercialize and operate a 20 MW/100 MWh battery energy storage system (BESS) in Winterschneidbach, Bavaria, designed to provide grid-support services. The five-hour duration battery project, located near Ansbach, will be developed for distribution network operator N-Ergie and operate on a fully merchant basis using AI-supported trading strategies to balance commercial returns with grid stability requirements. MaxSolar emphasized this is the second grid-support battery storage system it has developed for a German distribution network operator, following a similar project in the Bayernwerk network area. The Winterschneidbach BESS is part of MaxSolar's expanding portfolio of grid-scale storage projects aimed at enhancing renewable energy integration and grid resilience in southern Germany.
