Type: Financing · Technology: Telecom · Country: Germany · Announced: 2026-09-21
MEAG, the global asset manager for the Munich Re Group, closed long-term financing for Meridiam Glasfaser B, a fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) platform developed in partnership with Vodafone in Germany. The funding supports the construction and operation of FTTH networks in eight rural areas, suburbs, or small towns, expected to reach approximately 80,600 households upon completion. This transaction is structured as a fully amortizing loan with a 30-year term, providing long-term funding tailored to the economic lifespan of the infrastructure. It represents the third FTTH financing round jointly completed by Meridiam and MEAG investors in Germany, following rounds for Meridiam Glasfaser A and Glasfaser Montabaur, collectively supporting the expansion of fiber-optic infrastructure to approximately 200,000 reachable households.
