MET Group and Shell sign long‑term supply agreement for U.S. LNG

Type: Supply Agreement · Technology: Gas · Country: United States · Announced: 2026-09-15

MET International, the trading and wholesale arm of MET Group, signed a long‑term supply agreement with Shell for U.S. liquefied natural gas. The contract provides MET with LNG sourced from Shell’s U.S. portfolio over a multi‑year period, although volumes and duration were not disclosed. The additional U.S. supply is intended to diversify MET’s gas sourcing and enable pricing options linked to the Henry Hub benchmark for its European customers. Both parties highlighted that reliable access to U.S. LNG enhances supply security across European energy markets. The announcement was made on 15 September 2026 as part of ongoing cooperation that began with a 10‑year FOB LNG purchase agreement in July 2024.
