Meta signed supply agreements with Samsung Electronics, SanDisk, and Sumitomo Electric to support the deployment of its AI chip, Iris, and broader data center expansion. Samsung Electronics will supply memory chips, SanDisk will provide flash storage, and Sumitomo Electric will deliver fiber optic equipment. The agreements are part of Meta's plan to deploy 7GW of data center capacity in 2026, with an additional 5.5GW scheduled for the second half of the year. Meta's Iris AI chip, developed in collaboration with Broadcom and TSMC, is set to enter production in September 2026. The company's total capital expenditure for 2026 has been raised to between $120 billion and $135 billion, reflecting higher component costs and data center investments.
