METLEN sells Tamarico II hybrid renewable energy project to Copec Flux

METLEN has signed an agreement to sell the Tamarico II hybrid renewable energy project in Chile to Copec through its subsidiary Copec Flux. The project is located in the Atacama Region where it combines a 165 MW solar PV plant with a 725 MWh battery energy storage system, with the battery component expandable to 925 MWh. The transaction forms part of METLEN's asset rotation strategy, through which the company develops renewable energy projects before selling them to third-party investors. Copec Flux aims to consolidate its own renewable generation and energy storage portfolio to support and expand the range of energy solutions offered to customers while contributing to greater integration of clean energy into the national electricity system. METLEN and Copec began working together three years ago and intend to consider further renewable energy and battery storage investments in Chile.
