Monford Group signs EPC contract with Frontier Energy for Waroona solar‑battery project

Type: Supply Agreement · Technology: Hybrid · Country: Australia · Capacity: 132 MW · Announced: 2026-07-21

Monford Group signed a fixed‑price EPC contract with Frontier Energy to deliver a 132 MW solar farm and an 81.5 MW/565 MWh DC‑coupled battery storage system at the Waroona site in Western Australia. The contract obliges Monford to design, procure, construct, commission and hand over a fully grid‑connected solar‑plus‑battery facility by late 2028. The 820‑hectare project is the first stage of a multi‑stage development targeting up to 1 GW of solar capacity and 660 MW of storage by 2031. Frontier secured a $280 million debt facility and a $110 million share placement to fund the stage, underscoring the financial backing for the EPC scope. The agreement positions Monford as a key EPC provider in the Australian renewable market while advancing Frontier’s growth strategy.
