MPC Energy Solutions (MPCES) completed the sale of two photovoltaic plants totaling 87.4 MWp in Guatemala and El Salvador, under the transaction named Project Merlin, for a total revenue of $28.3 million. The deal includes the 66.1 MWp San Patricio project in Guatemala and the 21.3 MWp Santa Rosa & Villa Sol plants in El Salvador. The agreement was signed in November 2025 and approved by MPCES shareholders in December 2025. The buyer is an unnamed Panamanian energy group with investments in the Latin American energy sector. The final amount exceeded the initial estimate of approximately $27 million due to preliminary adjustments at closing. San Patricio sells its production under a 16-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with Comercializadora de Energía para el Desarrollo, linked to the Guatemalan group Ingenio Magdalena. Santa Rosa & Villa Sol have operated since early 2023 and have a 20-year PPA with CAESS, a Salvadoran subsidiary of AES.
