NatPower and Tesla sign strategic agreement for over 25 GWh of battery storage in Europe

Type: Partnership · Technology: Storage · Country: Italy, United Kingdom · Capacity: 25 GWh · Announced: 2026-06-23

NatPower and Tesla signed a strategic agreement on 2026-06-23 to develop battery storage systems with a combined capacity of more than 25 GWh in Europe. The first five projects will be built in Priolo, Sicily and in the United Kingdom as part of NatPower’s European storage platform that aims to exceed 100 GWh overall. Tesla will provide Megapack battery modules together with EPC services and the Autobidder trading platform, while NatPower will own and operate the assets. The total construction cost for the portfolio is estimated between $4 billion and $5 billion, and expected revenue over the next 20 years exceeds $15 billion. The deal creates a vertically integrated model that links electricity infrastructure, industrial capacity and advanced energy trading to deliver grid stability for data centers and high‑demand industries. By combining Tesla’s hardware and software with NatPower’s financing and execution capabilities, the partnership will accelerate large‑scale battery deployment across multiple markets.
