New Time and Esaving form joint venture Pantarei to recycle 740,000 PV panels per year

Type: Partnership · Technology: Solar · Country: Italy · Capacity: 200 MW · Announced: 2026-07-07

New Time and Esaving announced a joint venture, Pantarei, with an initial investment of EUR 3 million to build a photovoltaic panel recycling plant capable of processing 740,000 panels per year. The plant will operate 24/7, handling up to 120 panels per hour, equivalent to about 200 MW of installed solar capacity at end‑of‑life. The facility will be located within New Time’s production site in San Lazzaro di Savena, near Bologna, and is scheduled to become fully operational by the end of 2026. Pantarei’s high‑precision disassembly process will separate panel components without contamination, allowing the recovered raw materials to be fed directly back into New Time’s own manufacturing lines for new solar products. The JV positions both companies to capture value from the growing PV waste stream and to strengthen the circular economy in Italy’s renewable sector.
