NextEnergy UK I acquires 107 MW operational battery storage portfolio in southeast England

NextEnergy UK I, managed by NextEnergy Capital, has acquired a 107 MW portfolio of three operational standalone battery storage assets located in southeast England. The portfolio includes the 40 MW Maldon, 28 MW Basildon, and 39 MW Loudwater facilities, all of which are operational and supported by long-term Capacity Market contracts. This acquisition increases NextEnergy UK I's standalone battery storage capacity to 165 MW and adds immediate operational revenues to its existing solar and storage portfolio. Ross Grier, Chief Investment Officer at NextEnergy Capital, stated that the acquisition diversifies cash flows for investors and strengthens the fund's exposure to the rapidly growing energy storage sector. The operational portfolio is positioned to provide immediate cash generation and offers multiple opportunities for future value creation, supporting the UK's Clean Power ambitions.
