Nextpower acquires Apex Power and Prevalon Energy to expand into solar electronics and energy storage

Nextpower, formerly Nextracker, completed two strategic acquisitions in May 2026 to transform into a comprehensive solar infrastructure provider. The company acquired Apex Power, the U.S. subsidiary of Spanish electronics manufacturer ZGR, for an undisclosed sum, gaining access to modular solar inverter technologies capable of handling up to 2,000V systems. Days later, Nextpower purchased Prevalon Energy, a joint venture between Mitsubishi Power Americas and EES, in a deal valued at up to $365 million. Prevalon's portfolio includes scalable energy storage systems reaching 5.2 MVA, positioning Nextpower to enter new markets such as data centers and advanced energy conversion systems.
