Type: Financing · Technology: Biomass · Country: Denmark · Value: $182M · Announced: 2026-08-06

NIB signed a 13‑year loan of DKK 182 million (≈ €24 million) to Sindal Biogas A/S to finance the expansion of its biogas plant in Sindal, Denmark. The financing will enable the plant to double its biomethane output from 22 million Nm³ per year to 44 million Nm³ per year and to process up to 800 000 t of agricultural and industrial waste annually. The expanded facility will also allow the future installation of carbon capture and liquefaction technology for Power‑to‑X applications. The project supports Denmark’s goal of 100 % green gas in the grid and strengthens energy security by reducing reliance on imported gas. The loan is provided by NIB, while the plant is owned by Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners’ Advanced Bioenergy Fund I together with KK Invest and DBC Invest, highlighting a collaborative financing structure.
