Nippon Electric Glass signs 20-Year Solar PPA with Kansai Electric Power to Cut 600 Tons of CO₂ Annually

Nippon Electric Glass Co., Ltd. signed a 20‑year off‑site physical power purchase agreement with Kansai Electric to procure renewable electricity from rooftop solar installations in Japan. The PPA will commence in March 2027 and is expected to deliver electricity generated by distributed rooftop solar panels. The agreement is projected to cut carbon emissions by 600 tons per year, supporting NEG’s target of carbon neutrality by 2050. The deal expands NEG’s renewable energy portfolio and provides Kansai Electric with a long‑term off‑take for its solar assets. No financial terms were disclosed, and the transaction was announced on 6 August 2026.
