NLC India Renewables and OREDA form joint venture for 1 GW of green energy projects in Odisha

NLC India Renewables Ltd and OREDA Ltd signed a joint venture agreement to develop, operate and maintain a portfolio of green energy projects totaling 1 GW in the Indian state of Odisha. The JV will focus on installing solar, wind, hybrid systems, battery energy storage, pumped hydro storage and green hydrogen facilities, subject to techno‑commercial feasibility and regulatory approvals. The partnership also envisions forward and backward integration to create additional renewable assets and related activities across the region. By combining NLC India’s extensive utility experience with OREDA’s renewable expertise, the venture aims to accelerate the state’s clean energy transition and diversify NLC India’s generation mix. The agreement was announced on 25 June 2026, marking the first phase of the collaboration and setting the stage for future expansion into emerging RE technologies.
