Octopus Energy Generation invested in three operational solar farms totalling 43 MW in Ireland on behalf of its Sky fund (ORI SCSp) on 2026-09-29. The portfolio includes two projects in County Kildare and one in County Cork, with one Kildare site developed on a former golf course. The Sky fund backing the transaction is supported by the Ireland Strategic Investment Fund, which has committed £80 million to the vehicle. The investment increases Octopus Energy Generation's Irish portfolio to more than 300 MW across nine operational and under-construction renewable sites, and the company said it is also backing solar, wind and battery projects across Ireland. The announcement coincided with participation by Octopus leadership in an informal meeting of EU energy ministers in Dublin, underscoring the fund’s role in Ireland’s energy transition.
