Oman Power Company Signs 2.7 GW PPA for Continuous Wind, Solar, Storage Project

Oman's state-backed renewables developer O-Green Energy has signed a power purchase agreement (PPA) with Nama Power and Water Procurement for a 2.7 GW hybrid renewable energy project. The project, located in Mahmout and Duqm, will integrate solar, wind, and battery energy storage to provide round-the-clock power. This deal is part of Nama Power and Water Procurement's broader strategy to secure 7 GW of solar and 3 GW of battery storage capacity by 2030. O-Green Energy, founded in 2025, is jointly owned by Naqaa Sustainable Energy and OQ Alternative Energy, and focuses on delivering 24/7 green energy solutions. The project is scheduled to enter commercial operations in the summer of 2028 and is linked to the under-construction Mawarid wind turbine factory in Oman.
