OnPath Energy appointed Grupotec to deliver engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) services for the Common Farm Solar Park, a co-located solar and battery energy storage system (BESS) project near Dinnington in South Yorkshire, UK. Grupotec will also provide operations and maintenance (O&M) services for the first two years of operation, leveraging its integrated renewables capabilities across the project’s value chain. AECOM serves as lead consultant on the initiative, supporting project development and execution. Construction activities are underway, including piling, cable trenching, access roads, fencing, foundations, and drainage installations for both solar and battery components. The 116-hectare project incorporates a biodiversity strategy featuring species-rich grassland planting to enhance local ecological value. Once operational by mid-2027, the solar park is expected to generate sufficient electricity to power up to 18,800 UK homes annually, contributing to national energy security and reducing reliance on imported fossil fuels.
