Orygen Peru awarded definitive concession for 169.82 MW Arenarosa solar project in Ica, Peru

The Peruvian Ministry of Energy and Mines granted Orygen Peru a definitive concession to develop the 169.82 MW Arenarosa solar project in the district of Santiago, province and department of Ica. The resolution, published in El Peruano, approves the Concession Contract between Orygen Peru and the State. The project will utilize 297,930 bifacial 570 Wp photovoltaic modules with single-axis solar trackers, a 33 kV internal medium-voltage network, and 27 inverters, evacuating generation through the 220 kV Nueva Intermedia substation. Orygen already operates the 144.48 MW Rubí and 114.93 MW Clemesí plants in Moquegua, and is currently energizing the 94.22 MWac Wayra Solar in Ica, which will integrate with the Wayra I (132.3 MW) and Wayra Extensión (177 MW) wind parks to form a 403.52 MW hybrid eolic-solar complex. The concession modifies the administrative status of Arenarosa, which previously appeared in the COES pre-operational studies registry without a definitive concession, with its previously projected commercial operation year listed as 2026.
