OX2 acquires two 100 MW BESS projects from Hanwha Energy Europe in Lecce, Italy

OX2, through its subsidiary OX2 Italia, acquired two battery energy storage system (BESS) projects each rated at 100 MW from Hanwha Energy Europe. The two stand‑alone BESS installations will be located in the province of Lecce, Italy, with construction slated to start in Q2 2027 and commissioning expected by the end of 2028. The acquisition adds 200 MW of storage capacity to OX2's Italian portfolio, which already includes 750 MW of photovoltaic and 100 MW of onshore wind assets. The deal expands OX2's presence in the southern Italian renewable market and strengthens Hanwha Energy Europe's asset portfolio. Legal and financial advisors Gitti and Partners and L&B Partners represented the seller, while Green Horse Legal Advisory and BDO advised the buyer.
