Patria Investments and Ashmore secure $195M financing for 250.8 MWp solar park in Colombia

Patria Investments and Ashmore secured approximately $195 million in financing for the 250.8 MWp Puertos de Santander solar park in Cimitarra, Santander, Colombia. The capital structure includes 230,000 million Colombian pesos from Financiera de Desarrollo Nacional (FDN) and a combined 500,000 million pesos from Banco de Bogotá and Banco de Occidente, arranged with advisory support from Aval Banca de Inversión. The financed infrastructure includes a 36.8 km transmission line and a substation elevator connecting the plant to the Subestación Primavera, with commercial operations scheduled for December 2027. Energy revenues will be backed by long-term PPAs with AES Colombia, Nitro Energy, and BTG Pactual Comercializadora de Energía, alongside 20-year Obligaciones de Energía Firme (OEF) that generated a daily allocation of 992,744 kWh in the 2029-2030 auction. Additionally, Patria and Ashmore developed the Puerta de Oro solar park, which entered operation in July 2026 in Cundinamarca with 360 MWp capacity and annual generation exceeding 700 GWh.
