Piauí Institute of Technology and CGN Brasil partner to develop 100 MW concentrated solar power plant with thermal storage

The Piauí Institute of Technology (PIT) and CGN Brasil initiated studies to develop a concentrated solar power (CSP) project with thermal storage in Piauí, Brazil. This partnership aims to implement a pilot plant with an estimated capacity of 100 MW to evaluate the technical and economic viability of CSP technology under local conditions. The project includes cooperation for feasibility studies and exchange programs for Brazilian professionals and students in operational CSP plants in China. This initiative seeks to reduce the intermittency of renewable energy sources and diversify Brazil's electricity matrix with dispatchable renewable sources.
