Planted Solar raises $31.8M for robotic solar deployment

Type: Financing · Technology: Solar · Country: United States · Value: $31.8M · Announced: 2026-09-16

Autonomous power deployment solutions provider Planted Solar secured $31.8 million in a new funding round co-led by Piva Capital and RA Capital, with participation from Breakthrough Energy Ventures, Gigascale Capital, Google, and Khosla Ventures. The capital will expand Planted's robotic fleet and support the launch of Sage, a next-generation robot scheduled for deployment in late 2026, expected to more than double field productivity. The company plans to use the proceeds to accelerate the construction of solar projects, aiming to hit 100 MW of deployment in 2026, up from 10 MW in 2025, with a project pipeline exceeding 20 GW. Planted's technology enables high-density solar arrays on slopes up to 27% without grading, reducing land requirements while delivering twice the energy per acre compared to traditional trackers.
