Type: Partnership · Technology: Telecom · Country: Philippines · Announced: 2026-07-07
PLDT and DITO Telecommunity signed a memorandum of understanding on 7 July 2026 to share network infrastructure across the Philippines. The MoU grants reciprocal rights to use eligible tower sites and enables in‑building solution colocation within commercial buildings. It also includes submarine cable capacity sharing through indefeasible right‑of‑use arrangements, allowing both carriers to cut deployment costs and reduce equipment duplication. PLDT, which serves about 66 million mobile customers, and DITO, with roughly 17 million subscribers, aim to expand nationwide coverage while lowering capital expenditures. The agreement highlights a collaborative approach among the country’s two largest telcos to accelerate digital inclusion and improve service quality for Filipino users. No financial terms were disclosed, and the MoU does not involve any third‑party advisors.
