Plug Power supplies 25 MW of PEM electrolyser modules for Castellón green hydrogen plant

Plug Power is supplying five 5 MW containerised PEM electrolyser modules to the Castellón green hydrogen plant. The modules together provide the plant’s 25 MW electrolyser capacity, enabling production of roughly 2,800 tonnes of hydrogen annually. The equipment will be installed at the bp refinery in Castellón, Spain, and is being integrated as the plant moves into commissioning. This supply agreement strengthens Plug Power’s presence in the European green hydrogen market. The deal aligns with Iberdrola and bp’s strategy to decarbonise refinery operations. Financial terms of the supply contract were not disclosed.
