Type: Supply Agreement · Technology: Data Center · Country: United Kingdom · Value: $433.94M · Announced: 2026-05-22

The UK Post Office awarded Accenture a £322.8 million ($433.94m) contract to take over the running of its controversial Horizon IT system, which had led to over 900 wrongful convictions of subpostmasters between 1999 and 2015. Accenture will maintain and support the IT infrastructure within the data center, stabilize the current system, and assist with migrating services to the cloud as part of a five-year transformation plan. The contract includes data center operations, application support management, and service integration, with Fujitsu continuing to support the Horizon system during the transition. Accenture will work closely with Post Office and Fujitsu to transfer knowledge and key personnel, ensuring continuity and avoiding disruption throughout the transition. The Post Office also awarded a separate £169.2m ($227.46m) contract to One View Commerce to replace the Horizon software system.
