Real estate investment trust Prologis announced plans to construct a 99MW data center campus in San Jose, California, spanning 516,000 sq ft across three stories on 15 acres at 5977 Silver Creek Valley Road. The facility will include an on-site substation and require transmission upgrades, with construction expected to take approximately two years. Prologis acquired the site in 2022 through its $23 billion purchase of Duke Realty, which had originally planned a 281,875 sq ft industrial warehouse on the same location in 2021. The company also holds plans for a separate 400MW data center campus near Zanker Road in San Jose, featuring four two-story buildings. Prologis, a NYSE-listed logistics and industrial real estate specialist, currently has 5.6GW of power capacity committed or in advanced negotiations and targets up to 10GW over the next decade across multiple US states and international markets.
